Bierens tandwielen
A history that dates back to 1880....

Bierens Machinefabrieken B.V. is one of the few Dutch engineering works with a history that goes back for more than one hundred years. In 1880, August Bierens began a workshop in the centre of Tilburg. Soon afterwards, his sons entered into the business. In 1913 they took over the factory.

During the First World War, Bierens became known especially for its textile machines. A few years later, during the twenties, the firm manufactured balling machines as well. In 1931 the factory was expanded, and the production of gears was initiated. This was very successful, and soon Bierens  became one of the biggest producers of gears and gearboxes in The Netherlands.

After the war, new developments in the engineering works continued to follow each other in rapid succession. Bierens began the development and production of power transmission equipment and other machinery. In 1950 the premises were expanded once again, and in 1955 Bierens moved to its present location (about 20.000 M2). Bierens became specialist in the fields of gears, gearboxes, power drives and special machinery in The Netherlands.

Starting in 2004, Bierens has developed the Bierens/HPG-technique, with which technique it is possible to  make all kind of gears on universal milling machines with five or more axis. Especially big complex and accurate gears like crowngears and spiralbevelgears can be made. This technique is still in progress. A lot of work has been done but there are still ideas to make the process more efficient.

Although many changes have taken place over the years, what didn't change is that Bierens has continued to care for its business and to take pride in its trade. It is from these foundations that our future will develop.
